A PRAYER FOR PEACE
(AMERICA, LAND THAT WE LOVE)

Lord, yesterday was indeed
A sad day for America and the world.
To wake up in California
And to hear the sad news
That the world has come to the point
Of 'mass destruction of life' in an instant;
This is not something I could ever understand.
I lift up my brothers and sisters who died so suddenly
And ask that you welcome them home to you
With Your loving embrace
That comforts them in your love
And brings them your peace.
And for those wounded
Grant them a speedy recovery
And heal their pain
And comfort them in a way
That only you know how.
To us, as your Nation,
To us as your world
Make us a people of Peace.
Remembering that
Anger begets anger
And violence begets a cycle of violence;
Help us bring healing where there is hurt,
Peace where there is violence,
And justice where there is a great need for it,
Help us turn despair into hope,
Dead-ends into opportunities
Hatred into reconciliation;
That together as your people,
we may love as you do
and build a better world
of love, justice, and peace. Amen.

A HEART FELT AROUND THE WORLD

And I can only think about,
Precious, intimate thoughts of
A God placed in heaven high above.

And Lord, I can only think about
The purest love sent to me.
I cherish and adore
What a world cannot see.

A grace that is sufficient,
From a God in heaven
Who completes me.

MY PRAYER

Note from Catherine: This song was a birthday gift from my brother.
There was not a dry eye in the house. It's a song of family.

MY PRAYER

Hello, God. Yeah, it's been a while.
Hope You can hear my voice.
I was hoping for a favor from You,
For someone You know.

She's been on her own now and she's not really sure of
The plan You've got in store.
But I can hear her as she's calling out to You,
To help her open the door.

And I don't really know what's true,
But I know she believes in You.

So be the sunrise in the morning,
As she wakens to the day.
The smile that brightens her way.
Be a shoulder she can cry on,
The fire that keeps her warm,
Be the One who will always be there.

(solo)

And when the load seems too great to bear,
And she's lost her way home,
Promise me, Lord, You'll be standing right there
To lead her back to Your door.

I know we all seem to need something from You,
But here's all I'm asking You to do...

Is be the love that stands beside her,
A harbor, safe and warm,
Be her shelter whenever she's scared.
Be a shoulder she can cry on,
The fire that keeps her warm,
Be the One who will always be there.

Be a brother she can lean on,
The light that brings her home,
Be the answer to all of her prayers.

CAREGIVERS HELPING HURTING PEOPLE

The following are a few of this month's inspiring examples of
People Helping Hurting People. These Caregivers will
be passing out Salvation Prayer and Poem Bookmarks

At our church we have a drama entitled, 'The Verdict', which is
God inspired to win souls for God's kingdom. I know these
bookmarks would be a wonderful thing to give out to a newly
saved person. Especially since they are so beautiful.

- Darin and Andrea Orcino (Plaquemine, LA)

I am a volunteer involved with the prison ministry. There are
so many people in the prison who have never had any
teaching whatsoever about our Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ. To 'keep up a tough appearance', or for whatever
reason, so many of the inmates won't say the sinner's prayer
or ask questions in front of others. We are in a class setting
and I don't get the one-on-one opportunity. I feel there are
many who would like to turn their lives over to Christ when
they are not in front of others, but don't know what to pray.
Your prayer markers would be such a blessing for these
people. Thank you for your time and consideration regarding
this matter and may God bless you in a mighty way. Your
sister in Christ, Sheryl

I am a pediatrician serving in an area of few doctors willing to
see the poor. Part of my health care ministry is to spread the
Good News along with providing good health care.

God Bless your endeavors.

I am currently a college student at Virginia Tech and I also
run a website called teenjesus.com. I would like to be able to
distribute these items to those people whom we outreach to
here at the university and elsewhere. It would be a great
incentive, especially to college students who we all know are
generally in the need for some type of guidance. Hopefully
this can be a reminder to them each time they open their
books.

Thank you!
~Matt

I heard I could get 10 of each free book marks to give to the
people I care for at the nursing home. Thanks, Bryan

- Bryan J. Dickerson (Edgewater, CO)

I will be sharing them with people I meet randomly. Giving
them to people who are saved and not saved when they ride
in my car. Giving them to people I meet and witness to. Just
stuff along those lines.

- Jeff Watkins (Graceville, FL)
